There has been so many changing moments in the English Premier League. Most notably was the change in Man City’s form at a crucial time in the English Premier League.

One of the worst Decembers I’ve witnessed the Premier League champions have in some time now. Assuring and demolishing at every go they get and normally unmatched. Man City went down two games in as many and was on threat of making it three losses in a row for the first time since two seasons ago.

Before the December period got going Man City were the team to beat and favourites to stay in the lead. They led by a couple of points and good grip on retaining their title for the second consecutive season. Something no team has done since the dominance of City’s rivals, United and Sir Alex Ferguson.

And quite frankly, doesn’t look like it will be happening this season if Liverpool and others have anything to do with it. However, if they are serious about becoming as good as their noisy neighbours and chart their own history in the history books.

The one person who believes strongly in their chances is Man City captain, Vincent Kompany. He spoke out with motivation for the team and feels they won’t be like their counterparts of last season, who barely put up a fight in the quest for Premier League glory.

"“We shouldn’t focus too much on points at the moment, we know if we can play to our potential we are a good team,” Kompany said."

This is big point from the City captain. He knows all too well when you look at the points on the board it can hurt more than actually thinking how many losses it takes to help close the gap between them and whoever the leaders are.

It takes stabs at your pride looking at the points, yes. However, there is a chance and there’s always one. For City and Pep it’s coming on Thursday when they clash with Liverpool, the team leading them in the race for Premier League glory.

He is spot on and so should all of Liverpool be looking at it. Spoken like true captain.
