There should be a title for teams who escape relegation. Especially when you have players popping up with last-minute goals like Cardiff City has Víctor Camarasa.

It was one of the best matches of the day when Cardiff City travelled to King Power stadium. It was one of those miss you lose type of fixtures and really… James Maddison missed his chance for the Foxes and Camarasa took his without the asking.

To describe the event of the goal… PURE FILTH by Camarasa! A single moment of brilliance and what I would call the goal of Matchday 20. Well, it’s a toss-up, considering Roberto Firmino scored a goal that not only changed the lead but kept Liverpool at the top of the table.

You can choose.

James Maddison and James Vardy were dictating the pace well enough that Leicester City should have been home free and on route to take their third victory in as many. However, they only can be labelled as the giant killers or two-hit wonders.

More from Cardiff City

Warnock’s side was pumped up and were there to secure a draw. Little did he know one of his signings could potentially be the signing of the season if he is to help save the Bluebirds from the relegation drop.

Compact, bodies on the line, a save here and slide there, Cardiff really had the whole team defend behind the ball. If you not going to take Camarasa’s late winner and three-point taker as an action worthy of the Man of the Match award? Then it has to go to the guy on the other in between the sticks for Cardiff, Neil Etheridge.

A third penalty save in the English Premier League for this young man. This was the turning point in the match and gave his side the momentum to go and take it all. Cardiff took themselves out of the drop spots, pushing Burnley down again, even though they pulled off a well-worked victory over West Ham.

The Foxes just about piped by a promoted side after getting beat by a promoted side. Boy, what are the odds? Yes, this result was disappointing but their victories prior allows this one to slide. Good year-end for both teams, I’d say.
