Chelsea: A star attacker on his way to Stamford Bridge
There has been a lot of talk from before the season started leading up to now concerning one of America’s brightest future talents and Dortmund’s best players.
It’s been a rocky end to the year for Chelsea. Having a hard time closing is this Chelsea team. After going almost all the way with Man City and Liverpool, Chelsea did outstandingly well to keep up with two clubs, in other worlds compared to all their counterparts around the campaign.
The Blues of London lasted as long as Matchday 13 without a loss. It was then when they faced a revitalised Spurs side and then fell apart. Since then Chelsea has slipped up against sides they should have finished off, easily. The issues during these fixtures were as bright as daylight and needs to be addressed as soon as the January transfer window.
A window that’s become so important to a save, a cup, or even a top-four spot. And in Chelsea’s case a signing is needed to save a top-four spot. With Sarri at the helm, the Stamford Bridge side has shown far more disciplined than what they have, previously. Although, in saying this, they’ve also managed to become one of the best attacking Chelsea sides for a long time.
With this being said, there really has been one driving force in the side and that’s been Eden Hazard, and when he was out or low on performance cells it became clear they needed reinforcements. With Alvaro Morata, and Olivier Giroud, providing more and more evidence they are not of first-choice picking, Chelsea has to look for somebody to help keep somebody like Hazard happy.
The player being mentioned for this specific job…
Christian Pulisic is the player who is said to be Stamford Bridge bound after a number of links and the man to keep Hazard happy. Always being linked with a move to England, Christian Pulisic was always going to join the English Premier League. it was a matter of when and not if.
Now it comes to the time where football takes their silly season to a whole new level, the January transfer window. If rumours and reports are true, we could see the attacker as one of the first signings to join the English Premier League.
If he does come, Chelsea will be boasting one of the best attacks in the league. Ross Barkley might take a backseat and see his Chelsea career return to being a bench player, with Pulisic taking his place.
This also means Willian could be deep water, regarding game time. Liverpool and others were all in for the American starlet but it seems as if they were beaten to punch by their rivals, Chelsea.
