English Premier League: Ole Gunnar Solskjær can make it three in three for Man Untied
Something that’s been a scarcity at Old Trafford, not just the winning feeling but the hope of making it three wins in as many. Can Solskjær do what not many has done? The mood certainly says so.
It could be a special night inside Old Trafford but it could also turn out to be one to remember for the team making their travels to Manchester. Although, it seems almost impossible with the type of mode spreading across Old Trafford.
Ole has installed a rejuvenated swag in United’s step. It can’t be new, because the players of quality has always been there. It’s only that the Man United way was missing from the squad, fans, manager, and board. In a reverse order starting from the board and working down to the players all have had a hand in making a change around Old Trafford.
What counts heavily in their favour, they cannot achieve worse than what they already have in this season’s laugh and season’s prior to this one. And if I have to say it, you actually get a feel of the old United way. A test worthy of making heads turn is a trial against Bournemouth. Nevertheless, it’s either an amazingly stunning Cherries side. Or a totally disastrous Howe setup.
On Howe’s travels to The Theatre of Dreams, it has been extremely inconsistent. The pressures of many games in the space of fewer days has allowed for some poor results. They have only won two of the games played out during December. A stat Ole’s United will be looking to exploit.
United have already scored eight goals in two games since their Liverpool loss. On the end a massive improvement with only two goals let in. Bournemouth have shown a far more different record behind the ball and in front of goal. Five let by and two scored.
Looking for two on the bounce back for Howe, with United in search of three wins in as many under their new, stand-in manager. What we do know is that the Cherries have struggled against this Manchester opposition. No wins in the last six between these two meeting today gives them little to be hopeful for.
If the Cherries go down it’s a record fifth away defeat.
