A merry Christmas to all and hope everybody’s ready for Matchday 19 of the English Premier League. Boxing day, a gift to some and a traumatising day to others.
The most satisfying feeling after a belly filled Christmas is knowing there’s English football to follow. Nothing really stating, this is the match to watch. Nevertheless, you get to witness your team either give you a joyous late gift with a good result. Or, they will remind you, your pair of socks from your granny was the best item you got this Christmas.
With no massive headliners happening today, there are the other novelties to take into account. Things like Manchester City having to bounce back from their hiccup last weekend. Will they be able to do it, though? Liverpool on the brink of making it 19 games without defeat. Or, is this where Rafa, the once hero of Anfield becomes the villain of Liverpool.
Boxing Day Matchday 19 showdown
Burnley vs. Everton
Liverpool vs. Newcastle
Crystal Palace vs. Cardiff City
Leicester City vs. Manchester City
Tottenham vs. Bournemouth
Man United vs. Huddersfield
The Man United faithful get to welcome their hero of the past, who features in his first match as a manager and not a player. Will he make it two wins in as many in his United save? Huddersfield on a low and probably an easy opponent for him to achieve this with his United side.
Crystal Palace with an easy test and a visit from an old boss in Neil Warnock. Roy will be relishing the chance in taking on the team who’s conceded the second most goals this season. Tottenham’s clash with Bournemouth should turn heads and draw attention. Their chances of maybe getting to second place seems high.

Newcastle and Huddersfield’s tests are probably too demanding and requires too much from them to come away with anything. They will be the bottom dwellers of the English Premier League after the day ends. The year will surely end with Cardiff, Huddersfield and Fulham as the last three, with Burnley the team knocking on that door to join two of the three aforementioned.
Talking Burnley, will they take advantage of an Everton team still licking their wounds from the biggest loss of the weekend past. Everton’s journey to the Clarets will be one they will see a good time to bounce back strong.
