A reunion that has all the controversy in it. Later tonight we will find out if there is no love lost between Marco Silva and his old club Watford.
Last year round about the same time, Everton and Watford were involved with some shady business. This, more because of Everton’s dealings and poor start to their campaign last run out. The Toffees were roaming and remained in a relegation fight, which ultimately led to the sacking of Ronald Koeman.
Thereafter, Everton’s hierarchy were in search of a saviour to help reach the feet they had envisioned ahead of the terrible start they afforded themselves in the first part of the 2017/18 season. It was then, when all the drama unfolded. Watford were on the rise and playing outstanding football under Marco Silva.
They were in no need of somebody unsettling their camp. However, that’s exactly what happened. Everton disrupted the stinging energy at Vicarage Road by picking the ear of the manager, unsettled his mind of where he wanted to commit his future to and because of this ongoing problem, Watford warned Everton to not come any closer cause they would take legal action against them for an illegal approach.

This later led to the inevitable dismissal of Silva, leaving him without a job till the start of the new campaign. Watford stringed a run of bad performances before parting ways with Marco Silva, setting them in the direction of their own saviour, Javi Gracia.
In the mix of all this, Sam Allardyce was hired and sacked. Much to the prediction of all who knew it wasn’t a longterm replacement for Ronald Koeman, who now manages the Netherlands national team.
Now comes the time where they meet for the first time in their yellow and blue corners. How will this one turn up and turn out?
Everton vs. Watford game info
Silva and Everton has the delight of inviting the Hornets to Goodison Park for the first meeting between these two. Both teams have put on a great show leading to this point. Watford with the better start of the two, while the Toffees achieved a more consistent run.
Due to these runs accomplished by the two, Everton sits in a more commanding position than their visitors. Silva’s men sit in a position where a loss gives United some breathing room in their fight for a European spot on the table. But with a win they back in the top six and dropping the devils out.
In their last three fixtures Everton composed a win, a loss and a draw, respectfully, with their most recent fixture the biggest disappointment of all three. No injuries on the Toffees’ list, giving Silva the enjoyment and pleasure of picking from a fully fit squad. This shifts things in their favour.

The visiting team
It’s been a rough flight for the Hornets in recent weeks. Three losses from their last three games, has put them in a bad way. Their last travel to this venue saw them take no points. They will want to show their old manager they have moved on a long time ago and are over the problems caused by him.
They will have to use Nathaniel Chalobah or make a change in formation somewhere, in the absence of Etienne Capoue, whose red card was unsuccessfully revoked. Watford have turned things around on more than one occasion, and this could be the place to start another one.
Head-to-head there has been no team who claims the bragging rights over the other, in the last two meetings. Both won their respected home fixtures last season – having this fixture hold out for champ. Who will be that champ, Everton or Watford?
