Left this one for last because this one had it all. Drama, confusion, penalties, an outstanding crowd and most importantly, goals. A proper rivalry clash between Brighton and Crystal Palace.

A penalty wrongfully awarded in the 25th minute of the game. The match official got it wrong, completely wrong. The spot kicked called on Seagulls great, Glen Murray, who put away a fearsome strike from 12 yards out.

This was then followed by one of the maddest moments this campaign, if not, most ridiculous turn of events. The way the red card got gifted to Shane Duffy…

A dive from Murray forced a challenge from Tomkins. The challenge was fair and a corner was awarded, but no yellow card was handed to the forward for diving. Then the kicker… While all were surrounding the ref, jester Duffy took matters into his own hands but then was handed his marching orders.

He literally head-butted Van Aanholt with the main official right by his side. There was no fooling Kevin Friend this time around. But hey, I’m not done with the kicker. From the corner that was awarded, Brighton knocked in their second for the night. This all transpired from one Glen Murray dive. Boy… Talk about having the biggest impact on the game or a call.

Hughton’s men were ten men down but then still scored before the firs half ended. And in all fairness, this was the best moment of the match. Florin Andone’s determination was rewarded with one of the best solo goals this term. He sealed the fate of his rivals and gave them no chance back into the game.

An 81st minute penalty is all the travelling team could bring to the table. An all-round fantastic match to witness and a great showing by the hosts.
