Harry Kane (FWD, 12.4m, Southampton at home)

Is it finally time to put our faith back in Spurs’ golden boy? He has 3 goals and an assist in the last 4 matches and he is generally looking fitter and sharper than he has in a long time. With Spurs’ incredible run of fixtures over Christmas and the reduced likelihood of rotation, Kane could be the festive cheer you need as the days get darker and colder. This week they welcome Southampton to Wembley; the Saints have conceded 12 in the last 4 (although that is mainly a 6-1 thrashing by City) and they haven’t won away since GW4 at Palace.

Raheem Sterling (MID, 11.5m, Watford away)

The spinning wheel of rotation at Man City struck again as Aguero pulled up with a muscle injury. However, Sterling seems to be the most immune to Pep Roulette and, even better, when he does get rotated out it’s for a full rest, so you don’t need to worry about a 1 point cameo. To add a little more incentive, he is often pushed into the role of false 9 when neither Aguero or Jesus are on the pitch! With Man City still unbeaten in the league and facing Watford, Palace, Leicester and Southampton over the Christmas period, Sterling is the best bet in their midfield.

Gamble Picks

Felipe Anderson (MID, 7.1m, Cardiff at home)

West Ham have put together a dangerous attack this season. Arnautovic is leading the line well but it’s the people behind him who are causing issues for the opposition, none more so than Anderson. He gave the Newcastle defence a torrid time on Saturday and he was unlucky to get just the one goal and no assists. With that strong run of fixtures coming and people looking to offload Martial (another one where I got sucked in by the hype) he is an excellent option that saves you a little extra cash.

Son Heung-Min (MID, 8.3m, Southampton at home)

There are several things you can be sure of in December in the UK. Christmas fever will be so manic in the early weeks that everyone is almost fed up with it by the 25th, the minute it gets cold everybody will be predicting a white Christmas and Son Heung-Min will go on an incredible run of form for Spurs. You have to jump on while he’s hot because it doesn’t last long! He has a goal and an assist in the last 2 games meaning the time could be now. There is greater risk of rotation this year as Eriksen is fit and Lamela, Moura and Alli are all fighting for the same spots (even Sissoko looks alright at the minute!) but if you get on at the right time he can help shoot you up the ranks.
