Another captivating week in the EPL brings more fresh twists and turns. Approaching the crucial December period, teams are more desperate than ever to hit their best form with points at a premium.

With December’s first round of games out of the way, some teams will be feeling the festive cheer, while others won’t be enjoying the Yuletide spirit just yet. Here are the winners and losers from Matchday 14.

Matchday 14 results

Friday’s results

Cardiff City 2-1 Wolves

Saturday’s results

Manchester City 3-1 Bournemouth
Leicester City 2-0 Watford
Crystal Palace 2-0 Burnley
Newcastle 0-3 West Ham
Huddersfield 1-2 Brighton
Southampton 2-2 Manchester United

Winners: Arsenal and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Nothing beats a derby win against your fierce rivals, right? And Arsenal did so in style on the weekend, beating old rivals Spurs 4-2 in a thriller at the Emirates. Arsenal are now 19 games unbeaten in all competitions under Unai Emery.

The negativity and enigmatic play of the Wenger era seems long gone and forgotten – much to Arsenal’s benefit. Whilst eagle-eyed fans will note Arsenal’s current return to 4th place – almost an annual certainty under Wenger – don’t be fooled.

Sunday’s results

Chelsea 2-0 Fulham
Arsenal 4-2 Tottenham
Liverpool 1-0 Everton

This is an Arsenal team on the rise and surely heading for calmer waters and a consistency long missing from the Emirates. Additionally, star forward recruit Aubameyang has picked up where he left off last season, notching a double against Spurs.

He now holds the best minutes-per-goal ratio in EPL history at 103.5 minutes, of those to have scored 10 or more. The vocal early season critics have well and truly gone into hiding – or at least a winter hibernation.
