The weekend is here and we’re already one fixture down after Wolves suffered another defeat, this time to Cardiff City, who now have their second win of the season.
Last night set a steady pace with it being a three-goal game. Wolves drew first blood, but it was the Bluebirds who applied a better second half and went from being behind, to eventually take all the points. Two goals in the space of 10 minutes was enough to see them claim their second set of points for the season.
Wolves started off so well but seem to be getting knocked back down to earth after still only collecting only one point from the last six encounters. Back to the drawing board for Santo cause change is needed, especially during this fixture-dense December and January period.
A month away also from the transfer window… Who’s not excited? Teams can straighten bends and work on curves, if catch my drift? Others can bolster and setup for the home stretch, which we hoping will have a dramatic end to the title push.

Saturday Matchday 14
Manchester City vs. Bournemouth
Leicester City vs. Watford
Crystal Palace vs. Burnley
Newcastle vs. West Ham
Huddersfield vs. Brighton
Southampton vs. Man United
Only two teams keep hold of their unbeaten run after Chelsea was the first to fall of the undefeated three in the English Premier League. Of those two, only one takes to the pitch when they welcome Bournemouth (a top of the table club, might I add) to the Etihad stadium.
The other who is Liverpool, takes the stage in a Merseyside derby tomorrow in the last set of fixture. Now back to today… none of the top six takes part today, besides the champions Manchester City, as mentioned earlier.

Mid-table battles and bottom-table duels take place today. Man United ( strangely, not so strange), Bournemouth, Leicester City, Watford and Brighton, all play for mid-table honours. Out the lot, Brighton, Bournemouth and Watford have been the better of the lot. Others like United and Leicester have been below their best and are not meeting any sort of expectations.
Crystal Palace and Burnley comes with a real test and has set up to be a match worthy of the view. Their fixture fits hand-in-hand with the battle over at St. James Park between Newcastle and West Ham. The former on a massive high of late, while the latter repeats poor showings, match after match.
Pep’s job will be to add pressure to the Reds, as the fight is harder for them, compared to his one against Howe’s men. One loss for Klopp tomorrow and then City are exactly where they were last season, several points ahead of the rest of the pack. Then the battle for Champions League spots becomes the real title fight, seeing Manchester City stay unmatched by any team in the English Premier League.
