The final curtain of European football ends with Matchday 5 Europa League action this evening. What can we expect from two clubs who’ve already qualified for the knockout round?

There is no need for either of the London clubs playing later this evening to use their best before a busy weekend of English football. If both team’s managers feel a record is worth risking all players, then I don’t know what’s the priority for these two men this season.

After the weekend’s events, Chelsea went down in a fixture for this first time this season across Europe, collecting no points. A sturdy and proving performance from their other London rivals, Spurs, was too superior for new the Chelsea boss.

Group E fixtures

Vorskla vs. Arsenal
Qarabag FK vs. Sporting Lisbon

Group L fixtures

Chelsea vs. PAOK
BATE vs. Vidi

Arsenal kept on their unmoved run since the Chelsea loss very early on in the campaign. It was a hard fight for them and Wolves, with Wolves proving there’s many areas to improve his Gunner squad.

But really… This should be a time to test your potential world-class players, or your so-called “second fiddle” team and see if they can accomplish a win and continue the flawless run into the knockout stages.

What can we expect from the two clubs later…

Group E standings

Arsenal – 10 Points
Sporting – 7 Points
Vorskla – 3 Points
Qarabag FK – 3 Points

Group L

Chelsea – 10 Points
Vidi – 6 Points
PAOK – 3 Points
BATE – 3 Points

Both clubs have played their toughest opponents in the group stages. Unai’s Arsenal plays the early in the early slot this evening, followed by a late showing from Sarri and Chelsea. The former taking on a side they walloped 4-2 in the reverse fixture. Excepted, as the tie was held at the Emirates stadium.

The latter, a hard-fought meeting away from home that ended with only goal scored in the game by Chelsea. In their case – they’d be looking to bounce back big from the weekend’s disappointment, and they could have never of asked of better timing.

Next. Rounding up the Manchester clubs UCL. dark

In Arsenal’s travels, Unai might see a different goal set but the end result the same. Both teams have star-studded lineups and personnel. With them qualifying already, they have little worry about when they play later. Taking every once of pressure of the managers.
