What to expect this evening? Everything you can in 90 minutes plus of football action. Can Liverpool and Tottenham follow their Manchester rivals and reach the knockout phase?

Two teams really taking the upstream route in this Champions League tournament are Liverpool and Tottenham – and as it stands, one team has a lot more paddling to do than the other.  Nevertheless, can something be done to turn things in their favour?

Yes, it can be done but will not come easy with their opponents they square off against tonight – in the final action for this week’s European clashes. Klopp and his men have all the power in their own hands and handle with their own fait in their walk to the next round. Spurs also own their own fait but must also win now and hope later.

The reverse fixture is the one they suffer most from for the London boys.

Fixtures for the English duo

Tottenham vs. Inter Milan
PSV Eindhoven vs. Barcelona

Group C fixtures

PSG vs. Liverpool
Napoli vs. Red Star Belgrade

However, their return to domestic action was near perfect, if not near, then absolutely spot on by Mauricio and his men in white. So if you only as good as your last game, then both these clubs should be steaming into this tie with bucket loads of confidence after the weekend’s action.

Spurs and Liverpool capped off fantastic victories, with Pochettino’s men pulling off the more emphatic one of the two over Chelsea. Liverpool’s performance was tested by an unpredictable Watford side. The former were bang on from the start to the finish and the latter – slow off the mark but a strong finish to take all the points.

Group B standings

Barcelona – 10 points (Qualified for Round of 16)
Inter Milan – 7 points
Tottenham – 4 points
PSV Eindhoven – 1 point

Group C standings

Napoli – 6 points
Liverpool – 6 points
PSG – 5 points
Red Star Belgrade – 4 points

More of the same, or a bit of difference in this evening’s events?
