Last week was another case of ‘have or have not’. Earlier this season your week was defined by owning, or not owning, Hazard (GW4) or Aguero (GW2), and this week it was Salah/Mane.
Those who kept the faith in the Liverpool duo were richly rewarded with 15 points from each of them, and Salah even managed to get bonus points!
A lot of managers learnt a harsh lesson about the importance of bench players who actually play. Heavily owned players such as Hazard, Robertson and Arnautovic all missed out, so some had to rely on all 3 of their bench players and others ended up without a full team – I had 3 players on the bench who played (albeit with a grand total of 4 points), but still only had 10 men as I owned the 3 above and Monreal.
This week could be another high-scoring one as Man City welcome Southampton, and Chelsea play at home against Crystal Palace. Arsenal’s strong run could come tumbling down as they face one of 3 teams still unbeaten, while we have a fascinating relegation 6 pointer between Huddersfield and Fulham – the league’s worst attack against the worst defence… Marvellous!
