Liverpool: Jordan Henderson’s injury leaves space for Fabinho to shine in midfield
The injury plague has infected the Reds camp since the international break. If they haven’t been major doubts, they’ve been omitted from team selection.
The latest victim to fall out of contention for a starting place or a place on the bench is Liverpool skipper, Jordan Henderson. The English midfielder has been missing since the Huddersfield game and was clearly an asset Klopp could have used in the final minutes of the game.
Fortunately for the Reds, Klopp’s men were able to see out a hard-fought one goal victory over struggling Huddersfield. They still search for three points and Liverpool remains second to Manchester City, with them still owning an unbeaten record in the English Premier League.
Move on a few days and switch between the Premier League and Champions League, and Liverpool played their second fixture without their captain, Henderson. But the question after the Anfield match was no longer what will Klopp do, but will we see what Klopp did as soon as Saturday again?
How good wasn’t Fabinho against Red Star Belgrade?

It’s been longer than a minute, day, and month that we’ve had to wait for the Brazilian to get a crack at starting in a Liverpool jersey. It was clear there was still many things to learn from both him and the manager.
He had to learn more about the team and the manager had to learn more about him. There were endless questions thrown at the gaffer about his reluctant nature to leave Fabinho out of the squad for the past three months.
The defensive midfielder started his first Champions League game in Wednesday night’s beating over Red Star. Four goals with no answer testifies his ability at keeping things tidy and goalless. He controlled the tempo, dictated the passing, phased defence into attack, and all was done exceptionally by the Brazilian.
in this time that both Henderson and Milner struggle for fitness, the midfield is in need of a specialist. A person who can pick out a player from afar and add an extra, as well as, an unknown dynamic. He is the perfect asset for that. Two weeks from now the Reds take a worthy advisory on in Arsenal.
If Jordan Henderson and others remain out as an unavailable option, the preparation with him coming in now is perfect. He could be the wildcard for Klopp to take all the points at the Emirates.
