The second international break of the 2018-19 season is about to begin. England and other teams are ready to continue competitive matches.

Croatia vs. England

When – 2:45 pm EST on Friday, Oct. 12

Where – Stadion Rujevica – Rijeka (ESPN2)

After Poland and Portugal begin the third round of games in League A, the UEFA Nations League will have its first BIG World Cup re-match of the competition. Croatia will play England in Rijeka in a reunion between two World Cup semifinalists. Luka Modric and Croatia got off on the wrong foot with a 6-0 loss to Spain in September.

England also lost to Spain but have brought in new midfielders into the squad to freshen things up a bit. James Maddison and Jadon Sancho are hoping to make an impact to reverse the result that happened in July.

Netherlands vs. Germany

When – 2:45 pm EST on Saturday, Oct. 13

Where – Johan Cruyff Arena – Amsterdam (ESPN+)

One of the best rivalries in Europe is renewed in Amsterdam when Holland and Germany meet in an important match in Group 1 of League A. The Netherlands and Germany couldn’t beat France in September and a win for either side can ensure safety for the 2020-21 Nations League campaign.

This is set to be the first competitive match between the Oranje and Die Mannschaft since 2012 when Germany beat the Netherlands 2-0 at Euro 2012. Germany is hoping their Bayern Munich stars can rebound while Ronald Koeman takes a young Dutch squad for the break.
