The Champions League has certainly given us more than a standard amount of upsets this term. One thing was for sure of Matchday 2, Liverpool didn’t deserve a point and was not one of those upsets.

On Wednesday night we witnessed the flattest Liverpool team ever. The scoreline was not a true reflection of the game. If fate was one with the home side, we’d see a higher scoreline, with Klopp’s side still having zero.

Problems for me was team selection and no substitutions. Taking nothing away from Napoli and their persevering performance, Liverpool were not even a shadow of themselves. As put by the manager; ” it’s a bad sign if you have to say your goalkeeper is your best player”. They did well and had all the luck in the world before it finally ran out.

The manager did however accept the responsibility for the problems on the pitch. Lorenzo Insigne delivered the fatal blow, costing the Reds all the points in the game. It was all Napoli and no Liverpool. Carlos played the part and cheered joy on the sideline, as he felt it coming all game long.
