English Premier League: Bournemouth 2-1 Crystal Palace – Match report
By Amanda Paula
A goal from David Brooks and another from Stanislas sink Crystal Palace as Bournemouth return to winning ways.
Monday night’s matchup was crucial for Bournemouth and Crystal Palace at Dean Court as they were looking for a win to avoid any relegation threat in the near future. Thus this victory, Bournemouth stay 9th in the standing, with the same 10 points as Manchester United.
Whilst Palace is 13th with seven points. Roy Hodgson will be disappointed with the fact they had a point in their sights and let it slip thanks to some pretty dumb defending.

A young prospect helped Bournemouth take the lead
The first half begun with the host side dominating the game. The goal came sooner than expected, as Bournemouth’s prospect, David Brooks scored his first goal.
Smith who was playing at left back got the ball and sent it into the box to Wilson, who setup a lovely ball back to Brooks, embedded on the edge of the area. Besides the beautiful goal, he also became the youngster player to score in the English Premier League for the Cherries.
That made things easier as the hosts were only looking to score once more. Furthermore, Palace wasn’t playing their best game. At this stage the Cherries were in complete control and the half ended 1-0 in their favor.
Palace tie but Bournemouth turn out tops at the end of the game
The second period became more intense as Palace returned with an onslaught on the game. The struggle to score a goal wasn’t in vain: Zaha slide a great ball to Van Aanholt with a slide-rule pass. The left-back checked back on his right foot towards goal and crashed a wonderful shot into the top corner at the near post, tying the game 1-1.
Game on…
After the goal, Bournemouth saw that the visitors had developed their game, forcing them to start playing as they did in the first 45 minutes. Moreover, in the last-minute of the game, Lerma drew a foul inside the box and got a penalty after Sakho received a yellow card for a wayward elbow, while Palace were defending a free-kick.
Stanislas took to the spot and placed it down the middle – giving Bournemouth the lead well at the end of proceedings. Palace tried to get something going in the extra time afforded to them, although, it was a cherry day for Bournemouth is they pick three from the Palace tree.
