West Ham 8-0 Macclesfield

West Ham put eight goals past League 2 side Macclesfield Town in the rout of the week. After losing their first four games in the Premier League, the Hammers will host Man United on Saturday riding a three-game unbeaten run. Two players got braces in the drubbing. Robert Snodgrass and 20-year old Grady Diangana.

Burton 2-1 Burnley

Things were looking up for Burnley after beating Bournemouth 4-0 last weekend. Things went back down after losing 2-1 at Burton Albion. Jamie Allen’s 83rd-minute winner sees Burnley join Liverpool, Man United, Watford, and Wolves as the EPL’s victims in the third round. Burnley will now only play Premier League games until the FA Cup starts in January for them.

Bournemouth 3-2 Blackburn

The Cherries needed a late miracle at the Vitality Stadium to defeat Blackburn Rovers 3-2. Blackburn came back from a 2-0 deficit and tied it in the 72nd minute with Adam Armstrong’s penalty. Callum Wilson turned on the clutch gene and scored the winner in the 94th minute, sending Bournemouth to the fourth round.

The goals this week and the matches have created some great intrigue for the Carabao Cup. With new additions like VAR and no extra-time, the competition will continue to see upsets like Derby beating United and competitive games between big clubs like we saw at Anfield.
