Brighton 1-2 Tottenham

Spurs are back to winning ways with two goals against Brighton & Hove Albion at the AmEx. Harry Kane converted a penalty after a handball late in the first half. Kane’s third goal was followed up in the second half by Erik Lamela’s second in two games on a nifty left-footed finish. Anthony Knockaert’s late goal was too late for the Seagulls to push for a third straight 2-2 draw.

Tottenham is back into the top-five with their fourth win this season. They can get number five next Saturday at Huddersfield Town following their EFL Cup match with Watford. Brighton’s winless mark extends to five and a match at Man City likely won’t break it.

Matchday six is set to conclude tomorrow with West Ham hosting Chelsea and Arsenal taking on Everton. A win for Chelsea would set up a potential “title decider” next weekend against Liverpool. Arsenal is going for a fourth straight win in the league.
