Liverpool 3-0 Southampton

The Reds are still perfect and go to the top of the table at the end the day with their sixth win in a row. All three Liverpool goals came in the first-half and Southampton didn’t have a shot on target until the 91st minute. Mo Salah broke his scoring drought while Joel Matip headed one in after the opening own goal. Xherdan Shaqiri got his first start as a Red and performed well throughout the win.

Liverpool is now into “Chelsea Week” to end September. They will host the Blues on Wednesday in the Carabao Cup and head to The Bridge for a Saturday match that could determine first-place. Southampton is one of the teams that don’t play during the week and will get a full week of rest before they meet Wolves.
