Both Manchester clubs rally up their troops for their opening fixtures, as one travels and the other stays put.

The last two English clubs participating in Group F and Group H, respectively, take to the pitch in the final fixtures of Game Week 1. What Manchester club will come out tops, or will both be victorious?

The reds of Manchester travels all the way to Bern, Switzerland to take on Young Boys, while their neighbours remain at the Etihad, setting up for Lyon. Not as eye-catching as last night’s humdingers that took place but football entertainment, regardless.

One team new to the biggest European stage (Young Boys), while the other’s a familiar on this stage. In saying this, it’s believed that both, City and United should be taking all the points on their first match day of the Champions League.

A recap on last night’s duels

Spurs in the early game gave the impression of a wounded dog. Even the goal scored was of luck more than what it was the visitors showing their quality. They just had to keep out the Nerazzurri for another 10 minutes. But a jaded and fatigued Spurs couldn’t do the business to hold on to a 1-0 lead. Spurs trail in their group.

Last night also saw two of the world’s best attacks showdown at Anfield. As it was expected, nothing but the best with a five-goal trembler. A late substitution goal by Roberto Firmino was the difference between one point and three. The Reds made good on their home opener and set the pace in Group C, sitting in first place.

On to tonight’s happenings…
