The international break is over and club football is back in all its glory. Here is how the EPL teams rank before matchday five and Europe starts.

Last Result: L 0-1 vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers

Next Match: SUN at. Everton

No wins. No points. West Ham remains the worst team in the EPL after four losses to begin the season. Manuel Pellegrini will have to find a solution and fast before his name gets tagged with the infamous “You’re getting sacked in the morning!” The Hammers upcoming matches are tough on the schedule. After they are at Everton, a match in which they must get a result, they will host Chelsea and Man United.

Last Result: L 0-2 vs. Manchester United

Next Match: SUN at. Wolverhampton Wanderers

In the span of a month, Burnley went from a potential Europa League team to be a favorite for relegation in the EPL. Sean Dyche and the Clarets are losing game after game and conceding goal after goal. The offense has been poor with just three goals this season and Joe Hart is letting in tons of shots into his net once again. They need to pick up the pace on Sunday at Wolves.

Last Result: D 1-1 at. Everton

Next Match: SAT vs. Crystal Palace

The Terriers are one of five teams without a win in the EPL and I would pin them to be the side that could be without a win the longest. Cardiff City has looked more promising week in and week out while West Ham, Burnley, and Newcastle should get three points eventually. Huddersfield’s defense has improved and getting a point at Everton was no easy task. At home to Crystal Palace is a rare opportunity to steal a win.

Last Result: L 2-3 vs. Arsenal

Next Match: SAT at. Chelsea

Cardiff scored their first top-flight goal against Arsenal for the 2018-19 season and lost 3-2 to the Gunners. That sentence shows a lot of promise for the Bluebirds whose squad was tabbed to finish last in the league by many. Two draws in four games is good but that success could be short-lived. After playing at Stamford Bridge, Cardiff host Man City and Tottenham in consecutive weeks.

Last Result: L 1-2 at. Manchester City

Next Match: SAT vs. Arsenal

Newcastle continues to fall in the EPL power rankings. The Magpies three losses this season have all been to top-six teams and by the same scoreline (1-2). Newcastle still won’t get a break with the match against Arsenal set for Saturday. Rafa Benitez will need to pick up some points soon before relegation becomes a very real possibility for him. Newcastle can’t afford that fate again.
