On a day where 3 of the top 6 played, you could only expect the unexpected. There was a hard-fought game, a predictable match, and an upset.

Cardiff City 2-3 Arsenal

It didn’t take long for the action to get started. In the 7th minute, Peter Cech made a dreadful pass straight to Cardiff’s Harry Arter who missed the easy shot. 3 minutes later, Mustafi scored Arsenal’s first goal by somehow outpacing Cardiff’s defenders for a powerful header. It was until extra time in the first half for Cardiff to strike thanks to Camarasa.

For this match, Emery finally decided to try out the dual striking force of Aubameyang and Lacazette. These two caught fire in the second half with Aubameyang scoring an absolute cracker from outside the box with the assist from Lacazette. The Frenchman would later score one of his own to put Arsenal ahead for good. This was soon after an overdue goal from Cardiff’s Danny Ward.
