Man City 2-1 Newcastle

The champions return home and earn a win while Newcastle loses for the third time this season. All three of Newcastle losses are by a 2-1 scoreline against top-six opposition (Spurs, Chelsea, and City). Man City got off to a flyer with Raheem Sterling’s beautiful curling effort in the eighth minute. Newcastle responded with the American DeAndre Yedlin scoring his first career goal in the EPL. Then, Kyle Walker’s foot sent the Etihad mad.

City is the third team to double-digit points with Liverpool and Chelsea. They will host Fulham in two weeks after most of their first-team comes back from international duty. Newcastle is struggling and get to play another top-six opponent in Arsenal. The Toon is in the relegation zone.
