Crystal Palace 0-2 Southampton

The Saints won their first game of the season at Crystal Palace with heroics from a few different players. Danny Ings put Southampton ahead and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg got the three points for Mark Hughes. The other hero was goalkeeper Alex McCarthy, who made six saves to keep his second clean sheet this season.

Palace didn’t have Wilfried Zaha up top and it showed with the lack of finishing. Christian Benteke and Jordan Ayew combined for nine shots and they were scoreless. Palace is at Huddersfield for matchday five while Southampton seeks a second straight league win against Brighton.
