13 Premier League clubs had some mid-week action in the Carabao Cup. Some were shocked while others showed why they are in the Top Flight.
Leicester City 4-0 Fleetwood Town
The Foxes made quick work of Fleetwood Town with their reserves. Christian Fuchs, Vicente Iborra, Kelechi Iheanacho, and Rachid Ghezzal all got goals and progressed Leicester to round three.
Sheffield Wednesday 0-2 Wolves
Wolves unbeaten run goes to two as they win on the road against Sheffield Wednesday. Leo and Helder Costa scored against the Owls to take Nuno Santo further in what could be a deep cup run for Wolves.
Stoke City 2-0 Huddersfield
Our first EPL exit is from Huddersfield Town, who continue to underperform and are now out of the Carabao Cup. Saido Berahino broke his two-year goal drought as Stoke City get their second straight win.

Brighton 0-1 Southampton
In the only all-EPL match in the second round of the Carabao Cup, Southampton extinguished the Seagulls with Charlie Austin’s 88th-minute winner. The win is the Saints first this season and they will get to meet Brighton again on September 17th.
