The final game of the day lived up to the hype. Ex-manager versus new manager, when Chelsea beat Newcastle by a fine margin.

How to start this off differently to other Chelsea recaps? No way really with Hazard back in the starting lineup. Morata was his wasteful self, while Hazard picked up the same wonderful World Cup form we saw in Russia.

Another game where controversial moments played a hand in the final result. At first it was just a lot of end-to-end action, with both teams just throwing jabs. The game stayed scoreless for the first 70 minutes or so, and almost remained that way till the final moment.

Nevertheless, the ref awarded a penalty to Chelsea and nobody needs to ask Eden Hazard twice, as he made good and opened his account for the season. Shortly after, Newcastle answered back and tried their utmost best to keep out a final attack from the Blues.

Sadly, Marcos Alonso has been in scintillating form since the season’s begun and was the difference once again between, one and three points. Jorginho was again at his best and joined the top three ranks for most passes completed in a single match.
