There was a lot of hype about this midfielder last season. But it was only this game where I saw what exactly all the fuss was about.
Will Hughes was one of the best performers in this weekend’s fixtures. A goal worthy of number one, two, three, four, and five spot, if you asked me. Everything a midfielder’s supposed to do – this man did it and earned a goal from it.
Intercept a loose ball in the middle of the park, take a touch to send yourself on your way, eat up all the free space in front of you and then take a look before making a decisive decision – which was go alone. A real banger, arguably the most precise finish of the weekend.
His side’s performance on a whole was superb when they took the game well out of Burnley’s reach. Adding to the 35 goals of the weekend with a four-goal game.

Honourable mentions from Matchday 2.
Alvaro Morata, Gray, Deeney, Murray, Kane, Moura and Trippier, were those who missed out from this weekend’s top five but are worthy of a mention.
