It was a fun-filled weekend of football. Can’t really say there were any upsets over the weekend, with everything pretty much going as expected.

Besides the fulfilment of getting to watch your favourite team play, win or lose, many got to watch their club’s new signings take to the pitch and play out their first 90 minutes or so.

That, and the newly promoted fans got to see their men in action and take on the new challenge at the highest level, going up against the big boys. In this case, some proved to be on par with the big boys, others even better.

Many debutants from the Friday right through to Sunday. Friday saw Manchester United deploy their new Brazilian Fred, with Leicester City finally getting to see what James Maddison has to offer. The next day saw Richarlison hit two against their opponents, Wolves. While Wolves had their new boy cancel his two out with a late header.

Then Sunday saw Mahrez finally run out in the league in a new team’s colours, Manchester City. He aided in Unai’s defeat on opening day at the Emirates. Speaking things Emirates, Arsenal saw a list of new names have a run out, except Bernd Leno.

Liverpool’s new boys stepped out at Anfield and ran riot around the new Hammers, who let’s face it, were the worst of the weekend. Felipe Anderson picked the wrong challenger when he took on the Anfield crowd.

Some had the time of their lives, while others want to forget the start to their life in the English Premier League. Here is your top five performers of the new signings, players moving to other clubs, and newly promoted men who joined the Premier League this season.
