English Premier League: Super Sunday’s results involving City, Liverpool, and Arsenal

Three games ended Matchday 1 of the English Premier League. One stalemate, a champions setup and a team setting the pace were all on display today.

The first Sunday of Super Sunday action returned in emphatic style. Out of the six teams taking part in the proceedings – one had to show why they were the league’s previous champions, the other started a new era under their new man at the helm, while another side lived up to their expectations.

In the one other fixture that involved two teams not labelled as one of the top-six sides, played out to the least entertaining match of the weekend, let alone the day. But it was expected with both managers style of play about defensive qualities over attacking fearlessly.

With three games played, six goals were scored and four clean sheets were kept. After all the action of Matchday 1 concluded – Liverpool boast the most convincing performance of the weekend, while West Ham sadly takes weakest team of the weekend.
