Jose Mourinho gets his wish granted for Manchester United and that’s take all the points as they open the long-awaited English Premier League campaign.

Friday Night Football started off at a 100 miles per hour. A goal from the spot and one from open play was enough to see out Leicester City on the night. A late goal in stoppage time by Vardy was nothing but a consolation goal, after the visitors were so wasteful throughout the 90 minutes.

The United manager was in high spirits when arriving to the scenes at Old Trafford. Despite them having one of the worst transfer windows out the top six and probably in their history, the team looked pretty assuring in taking the three points.

The manager also got it right to have the team led by the World Cup winner, Paul Pogba. His first goal of the season was also the first of the game. An unnecessary handball by Daniel Amartey in the early stages of the game put the Foxes on the back foot. A bit of a debate between the two dead ball specialist, Alexis Sanchez and Paul Pogba. But the captain felt the duty was his to lead the team to an opening day victory.

The biggest shock of the match was the second goal scorer of the game. Luke Shaw was one of United’s better players on the pitch and capped off a decent performance with a goal to win the game. The moment the goal was scored, the world watching in could see what it meant to Jose and the team.
