Unfortunately for the rock of a centre-half that is Eric Bailly, he wasn’t able to build on his stellar debut 16-17 season, as injuries riddled his 17-18 campaign.

It doesn’t diminish his ability in any way whatsoever though. When Bailly plays, he is near-impenetrable, even with the subpar centre-back partners he has been forced to play with in the past.

Many have forgotten his name when speaking of the best centre-backs in the Premier League but if Bailly can stay fit this season, his name will be amongst them very soon. Toby Alderweireld and Harry Maguire are both being linked heavily with United, and this would aid Bailly’s defensive duties, mightily.

Not only is he a physical specimen, but his technique is quite underrated and he has the potential to become a world-class player very soon. But again, this all relies on his fitness and Jose Mourinho’s trust in him.
