English Premier League: Five players you can expect to improve heavily this season
Following his long-awaited move away from Arsenal, Alexis Sanchez struggled for Manchester United in a way we didn’t expect from a man finally set free.
He has his flaws, sure, but the supremely skilled Chilean is easily one of the best wingers in the world when he is on form. 24 goals and 10 assists for Arsenal in 2016-17 shows that.
Perhaps he was simply trying to figure out how he fits into the United XI, which plays a completely different brand of football to Arsenal. In the past few months, Alexis had his first football-less summer in years, following Chile’s failure of a World Cup qualification campaign.
This bodes extremely well for Manchester United, who relied so heavily on Romelu Lukaku to score last season. When Alexis is fit and firing, he is the best secondary-scorer in the Premier League, and United will need that if they are to tackle their Mancunian rivals.
