The rise of Spanish right-back Hector Bellerin a few years ago was nothing short of stunning.

He joined the Arsenal academy in 2012 as a right-winger and was then moulded into an all-action full-back with one of the fastest pair of legs in world football.

Bellerin continued to rise with the Arsenal first-team, and at the mere age of just 23, he will likely hit 200 career first-team appearances this season. Despite his meteoric rise, Bellerin hit somewhat of a hurdle last season when Arsenal struggled at the back all year-long.

Bellerin himself wasn’t one of the worst performers in the team by any means, but he plateaued in a way that nobody really expected him to. The departure of Arsene Wenger and the arrival of Unai Emery has been tipped to transform the career of Bellerin.

Emery is known for working wonders with attacking full-backs, and there may not be a player more in need of this than Hector Bellerin, who clearly has boatloads of talent on the front-foot.

Expect Bellerin to steadily improve on his performances this season, as he takes up the #2 and becomes one of the most recognizable characters in the English Premier League.
