The 2018-19 Premier League season is set to kick-off a bit later this month, and fans of all 20 clubs are getting set to cheer on their sides once more.

Last season we saw Manchester City run away with the title in record-breaking fashion, but the race is expected to be much closer this season, especially with Liverpool’s prudent business.

With a new season comes new expectations for some, including many individuals who underperformed last season. For the 5 players on this list, improvement should be expected and welcomed by all.

For some of these players, the improvement is expected to come through a change in management which will suit their style. For others, it’s expected to come through either a successful summer at the World Cup, or a peaceful summer spent re-energizing at home.

We kick-off our list with the World Cup-winning captain!
