Olivier Giroud could see himself out of the Chelsea squad in the latest news. Atletico Madrid look to unite Giroud with his French teammates.

French Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud is the latest Chelsea player in the news for a possible exit out of Stamford Bridge. Reports have stated that Atletico Madrid is targeting Giroud for a loan deal. The club is more interested in a permanent deal than a loan spell.

Going along with Giroud, Willian and Eden Hazard are currently being targeted by the Spanish giants as manager Maurizio Sarri is still heavily interested in signing Gonzalo Higuain and Daniele Rugani from Serie A.

Giroud has spent the last six seasons in the EPL, primarily with Arsenal before he moved to Chelsea in January. Giroud has only ever played in France and England, but he will see some familiar faces if he joins Atleti. French teammates Antoine Griezmann, Thomas Lemar, and Lucas Hernandez all currently play in Madrid.

Sarri is keen on creating his team

All the latest transfer rumors with Chelsea are making it very clear that Sarri wants to recreate Chelsea. It makes sense why Chelsea would rather have Giroud sold to Atletico than to have him go out on loan. Sarri and the Blues would prefer to use the money they get for Giroud towards signing a new striker, preferably Gonzalo Higuain.

If all the rumored sales go through, Chelsea could have a lot of money to play with in the next three weeks before the season starts. Giroud to Atletico, Courtois and Hazard to Madrid, and Willian to Barcelona would fill Chelsea’s transfer and wage budget for brand new stars.

Next: Arsenal must dip back into the market

Is it all worth it though for Higuain and Rugani? Higuain has scored a lot in Serie A with Napoli and Juventus while Rugani is an up and coming Italian defender. The EPL presents a much tougher challenge for both players with the higher quality teams overall in England. Sarri seems to be set on Serie A players having already pinned Jorginho. Either way, Chelsea could look A LOT different by August 11th.
