The Blues’ owner celebrated a decorated milestone last week. This man singlehandedly changed the fate of this London club and hopefully for them, he will continue his rewarding time at Chelsea.

Late news on the 15 year celebrations…

Since the inclusion of the Russian money man, the Stamford Bridge boys have become a force to be reckoned with. They went from nearly making a dent in the league – to becoming one of the big boys in the English Premier League.

This was thanks to Putin’s cousin (not really his cousin) Roman Abramovich. Always demanding the most from everybody at the club and known to be a terrier to deal with. If he doesn’t like – it doesn’t happen. But the thing he strives for most is keeping the fans and players happy.

So much so, he’s always sided with the players – getting rid of the manager rather than the players who doesn’t agree with the man in charge. This has made him a fan favourite and it doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon.

What the Russian has brought to London

Because of Roman being a Blue supporter for life it was the most influential factor in his decision in taking over the London club. It also seen him do some of the best business in the league for the fans.

From all the managers to players the club has seen it has surely helped in keeping the league the most competitive to date. As mentioned by CFC Live, Roman has seen 10 managers come and go under him.

Of those managers, honourable mentions are current Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho. Newly appointed boss at Napoli, Carlo Ancelotti and a Chelsea hero, Roberto Di Matteo, who entertained us to one of the best care-taking jobs in the history of the Champions League.

One name that has to be added with the above mentioned, Guus Hiddink. The man called in to come and save the season for Abramovich.

Chelsea’s success under Roman

Stamford Bridge has been treated to some memorable moments, most notably is the Champions League victory over Spanish giants, Barcelona. This was during the time of Matteo.

Over the past five seasons Chelsea has seen silverware placed in the cabinet. They’ve won four trophies in this time. Despite all the drama that goes on behind closed doors with the owner and whomever’s at the helm at the time – they’ve always collected silverware. Something important to any club.

In recent times Chelsea has failed to make the Champions League after winning their two league titles. One with Mourinho and one with current boss, Conte. This displays their reluctant nature to mount a proper title-defending campaign.

However, Under Roman Abramovich they’ve  seen 17 titles  across all competitions. Something many of the other top six cannot match. The Blues were rescued from disaster and have this man to thank for that.
