One of the most exciting World Cup groups will come to a close as England look to get a win over Belgium to finish top of Group G.

Belgium is not the favorite to get a win

After getting a 5-2 against Tunisia, the Belgians have shown the world they have one of the best attacks in the tournament. Their eight goals tie them with England for the lead in Group G. Kevin de Bruyne, Thomas Meunier, and Jan Vertonghen is a booking away from a ban and will not for Belgium against England.

To increase the bad news for the Red Devils, Romelu Lukaku will not start with an ankle injury he picked up against Tunisia. Other injuries include Dries Mertens ankle and Eden Hazard’s calf problem.

The B Team is going to face the Three Lions. The attacking front three includes Michy Batshuayi, Youri Tielemans, and Adnan Januzaj. Nevertheless, the defense might be their weapon to grab its third win in the World Cup and first-place.

The Three Lions bench strikers get the start

Despite Dele Alli having recovered from an injury, Gareth Southgate is starting Ruben Loftus-Cheek on their man squad. Besides that, Marcus Rashford, Eric Dier, Jamie Vardy, and Gary Cahill are all in the side for today’s match.

Will it change their tactical formation? No.

Southgate is sticking to his 3-5-2 formation but with defensive changes as well. Ashley Young and Kieran Tripper will get rest and make way for Trent Alexander-Arnold and Danny Rose. One thing England will need to continue against Belgium is creating from the right side. Against Panama, almost all of England’s attacks started on the right side with Kieran Trippier shooting a long-ball to Harry Kane, Lingard, etc. As you could see in the image above.

Before Kane put the second goal back in the back net, Lingard received a long-ball from Trippier and after two seconds, he got fouled and earned a penalty.

Trippier has become a great weapon for the Three Lions, helping his team to attack and also to defend as he turns the 3-5-2 into a 4-4-2 as a fullback when their opponents have the ball.

That explains how important he is for the Southgate’s tactical system, but they have to explore the left area with Young as well when they play in the Round of 16.

Next: Best of Group E

Prediction: England 3-0 Belgium

England will definitely be coming with their full force, whilst Belgium will have a lot of absences on the pitch, that may help England to win this game and see them finish first. A winner in this game would play Japan in the Round of 16.
