World Cup: Good to see Man City’s Benjamin Mendy back on the pitch
The long-awaited return of Benjamin Mendy is finally over. A difficult time put behind him and what a time to start.
What a time to start and get you first taste of action. Yesterday saw longterm injury victim, Mendy included in France’s stalemate with Denmark, which saw them both advance to the knockout stages of the tournament.
There’s no better way to be introduced back into the game, than on the world’s biggest footballing stage. The social media hero no longer has to take a seat in the stands. He’s now back and ready to fight for his place in the team. Normally this would happen when you playing domestically.

In spite of that, the manager thought it an A idea to bring one of his strongest options on to come and help close up the game. Mendy was used as a 50 minute, second half substitution for countryman, Lucas Hernandez. Yes the one from France.
Benjamin and co managed the only goalless draw at the Russia 2018 World Cup. A clean sheet took them to seven points, clinching Group C. This was a great result although it was a boring one. The manager can go in with confidence, being able to pick his best left back in the national team.
Good news for the Citizens
The Frenchman arrived in Manchester in a deal of around £52 million last summer from Monaco. In a game where they battered a crippled Crystal Palace side 5-0, Mendy was a victim of a season-ending injury.
Worried about the length of the spell on the sideline for the left back, Pep and City were on the verge of dipping into the market again for a new man. However, the manager opted to wait, with the length of the absentee not that threatening to the following campaign.
Next: Reds finally call Keita theirs
Yesterday was the first piece of action the fullback got to enjoy, and hopefully it will be one of many matches we see the world talent playing. He will slot in to the City squad as if he was just signed this summer, making him like a new addition for the coming campaign.
Good to see him back and let’s hope this time it’s for a full season stretch.
