Will a new addition to the three main starters cause some departures?

Antonio Rudiger – The defender has proved a versatile weapon for the manager next season, whether that be Conte or perhaps Maurizio Sarri. He acclimatised quickly to English football and did himself no harm in an otherwise poor season for the club. Expect him to be in the back three next season.

Gary Cahill – The experienced Cahill has had a good tenure at Chelsea since his move in early 2012. But, a disappointing season has left fans seeking a move away. The club have reportedly been looking for a long-term replacement, so whilst he may stay at the club this summer, it won’t be for long.

Andreas Christensen – The youngster coped with the pressure of breaking into the Chelsea team last season, and it would be a bizarre decision to let him go. He could leave on loan, but this would be far from ideal as he has already broken into the first team.

David Luiz – The Brazilian lost his place in the team last season, and a departure is very likely. There have been reports of a return to Benfica, but also speculation has arisen that he could be involved in a swap deal with Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly.

Cesar Aspiliqueta – The nicknamed ‘Dave’ has become one of the best defenders in the league following a conversion into a centre back. He will be at the club next season, unless a shocking move happens.

Kurt Zouma – Zouma was involved in a relegated Stoke side, and may go out on loan again next season.
