Pochettino will be watching with enthusiasm as 12 players from his Spurs squad are set to represent their nations at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

With the World Cup only weeks away, it is time to focus specifically on the Tottenham players who are set to feature. I will preview each player, and also consider the international experience and the likelihood of them starting in Russia. A lot of Spurs teammates will become rivals during the tournament as the group stage pits them together.

Christian Eriksen – Denmark (Group C)

The highly regarded midfielder is the biggest star of his country and is all but confirmed to start in Russia. Eriksen’s efforts in qualifying contributed heavily to the success of the nation. This included a stunning hat-trick to secure a place in the World Cup against the Republic of Ireland in the playoff round. He proved how essential he is for Åge Hareide’s side with an impressive 11 goals in qualification. If the side is to do well, Eriksen must perform.

Hugo Lloris – France (Group C)

Despite having a somewhat inconsistent season in the Premier League, Lloris will start for France at the World Cup. He made five mistakes which lead to goals in the 2017-18 season but has the experience to rectify his mistakes and impress on the biggest stage. The goalkeeper has 96 caps to his name and has also played at two World Cups and two European Championships. The Frenchman has the experience that could help take France all the way.

Eriksen will shoot at Lloris’ goal in Moscow on June 26th to close out group C play.
