There is only one clear victor in this category; Marko Arnautovic.

The enigmatic Austrian turned his season around to well and truly deserve the title of Hammer of the Year. 11 goals and 6 assists in the second half of the season justified his 23 million pound price tag.

I am convinced without him, West Ham would almost certainly have faced relegation. Honourable mention goes to free signing Pablo Zabaleta, who, despite his age, has consistently delivered.

Angelo Ogbonna and Declan Rice, both picked up their game under Moyes and are a solid centre back pairing. West Ham’s flashy wing back Arthur Masuaku, deserves a commendation too for his outstanding attacking flair and mazy dribbling.
