Firstly, I believe that the club have done remarkably well away from White Hart Lane this season and to finish in the top four again is a real achievement.

However, this is not the issue for Spurs fans. The problem is that for a number of years the club have been unable to carry on momentum. They have lacked a winning mentality and this has coincided with a dip in results in the most important stages of the season.

For example, the 2015-2016 season saw the club draw at home against West Brom to end the title race. They even finished below Arsenal with a capitulation at St James Park on the final day. Also, the Fa Cup Semifinal defeat this season was the eighth semifinal defeats in a row.

So, the club clearly have a lack of any mental strength when it matters, which has prevented them from taking the next step. But, the league form has been promising again this season. With next season being played at the new stadium, there is genuine hope that Spurs can finally break their trophy drought.
