The sad reality was the laughing reality, became the only reality. The question of if, took a turn and became a question of when.

It’s no secret that this Arsenal team has been in a steady decline for the past couple seasons, and much of the blame was placed on long-term manager Arsene Wenger.

So, when Arsenal announced that Wenger would depart the club this summer, it was greeted with a mix of sadness and relief. 22 years as Arsenal manager is bound to earn you admirers, but most Arsenal fans will tell you that his departure is the best thing to happen to the club in a long time.

In truth, it was a nice way for Arsenal to end the season, with floods of appreciation and love for Wenger from all corners of the footballing world. It also gives them a fresh start in the coming years.
