The Thursday night contest at the London Stadium between West Ham and the Red Devils put Hammer fans to sleep. The 0-0 draw was a classic, boring Mourinho game.

I’ll save most of the recap cause there isn’t much to recap. Both teams did nothing until the 88th minute when a scuffle broke out. Paul Pogba and Mark Noble got handsy late in the second half to help us get one highlight in this game.

Mourinho’s side clinched the runner-up spot in the Premier League table, the first time United finished in the top three in the post-Ferguson era. It’s likely Mourinho will play a ton of youngsters in Sunday’s contest against Watford. With nothing to play for, it’s a chance to give game time to players like Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Scott McTominay.

The big news for Man United on the day was David de Gea clinching the Golden Glove. The clean sheet was De Gea’s 18th of the year and it is the first time he has led the league in this category. Ederson has 16 for the second spot while Hugo Lloris, Thibaut Courtois, and Nick Pope round out the top five.

West Ham are safe while others in the club are not

West Ham will stay in the Premier League next season after what was an erratic and disappointing campaign. The talent was brought in by Slaven Bilic with Joe Hart, Marko Arnautovic, and Pablo Zabaleta wearing claret and blue. It didn’t work as Hammer fans will walk away disappointed sitting in 15th place before the final day.

The Hammers will end the season hosting Everton at the London Stadium. For me, this should be David Moyes’ final game. Moyes once again proved that he can’t get the job done in the Premier League. West Ham had enough talent to stay safe and Moyes’ almost messed it up.

West Ham should also look into getting rid of some new and old faces. Joe Hart is not a good goalie anymore and should be gone. Andy Carroll should also go as he hasn’t been a factor and continues to be ridden with injuries. It will be a summer of change for West Ham before the 2018-19 season.
