Burnley transfer policy is far from splashing the cash on record transfers. But the smallest squad with the lowest budget will need to invest, especially if they are to make anything other than a token appearance in the Europa League.

Sean Dyche is currently the highest earner at the club, which says how much their success has been down to his tactics when building a team.

He always seems to recruit well, they always fit in with a certain style and they must have the right mentality. This helps us narrow down the Burnley transfer targets considerably. Dyche himself has said they won’t sign players for the sake of it.

The Englishman has installed sufficient confidence that he will not pull an Everton in Europa. With a bigger kitty to go mad under the stewardship of Ronald Koeman at the time – they still managed to become the team used to ‘get your eye in’, making no impact what so ever on the tournament.

Dyche must play the avoid card here and maintain that surety he possesses in the transfer window. This has undoubtedly become the Englishman’s most important transfer window in the history of his career – so here is where he must make all his years of experience pay in full.
