Liverpool: Klopp believes Reds onslaught will continue in Italy
By Amanda Paula
It was an incredible Tuesday night of football for all Liverpool fans around the world. Although, according to Klopp, Liverpool are going to repeat the good footballing next week at Stadio Olimpico against Roma.
Exhibiting a smile, jokes and happiness, the Liverpool’s boss Jurgen Klopp, showed his delight in the post-match press conference, after a startling 5-2 win over AS Roma, at Anfield in the first leg of the Uefa Champions League Tuesday night.
Talking to the press after the match:
"“The boys played a brilliant game. “So over a very long period and even, there are the last few minutes when we conceded, we did that, then we played a world-class game, it was outstandingly good. “It’s only a bit too early but that’s usually no problem if the fullback is in the right position. “Trent who played an outstanding game, world-class game and it’s not the right moment, ’cause they earned all the balls before then, he is in a good place.”"
‘The ref helped Rome’
The German said that the referee Felix Brych, helped the Italian side when he gave a penalty for the Italians. Which it was converted by Perotti.
"“We made one mistake, the ref made one mistake and [gave] two goals to them and that’s it.”"
The former Borussia Dortmund’s coach said events were the same in the quarterfinals against Manchester City.
"“When I was sitting here after the game against Man City, everybody told me that the first goal was obviously scored slightly offside. “So we took that, so we take a penalty as well, but now we have to work against Rome, that’s not a problem.“There would have been work for us to do when we win five now, because Rome would have tried everything to strike back anyway, so that’s not a big difference, and what I learned tonight is that we can win the second game as well, even when it will be different but Rome needs to score goals against us.”"
‘We are not Barcelona’
He took the opportunity to say Liverpool won’t play as Barcelona did in Stadio Olimpico, they are hungry for titles, unlike the Catalan side who failed in Rome in the previous stage.
"“I said a few times it shouldn’t sound like a warning or whatever but we aren’t Barcelona. “Barcelona is one of the two or three best teams in the world, they won so many thing in the last few years and we didn’t. “So we will fight with all we have for that result again, so it’s better than I’d expected before the game.”"
Even playing in the semifinals of the Champions League, Klopp has said that he’s major concern is to beat Stoke City. And to do so, he expects the fans will repeat the same atmosphere in the Premier League.
"“And I said it before and I say it again that the atmosphere tonight was absolutely outstanding, what you can expect if you are a five-millilitre pole that people really enjoyed it so I’ll say to everybody’s who has a ticket. “I expect exactly the same atmosphere on Saturday at 12:30 because we need it and that’s a massive game for us and we need to be ready for that and we will be ready.”"
The German admitted how his had to study, adapt, and learn how to beat their adversary.
"“In the first 15 minutes, we have to learn to adapt to the formation of the opponent and then we played how we played.”"
Not only Salah made an impact, but Firmino as well
It’s not the news that Mohammed Salah is crossing the best moment in his career so far. He notched two superb goals and contributed with the same number of assists. Making all Liverpool fans across the world dream of their qualification into the finals.
According to Klopp, he has made an impact on the side and it’s good to have him on board.
"“He’s a massive impact on that of course or like the other boys as well winning, but then the first goals are just a genius strike he scored like this, makes it even more special, he makes it clear it’s no coincidence and the second was brilliant play."

When the reporters asked if Salah could be the next Ballon d’Or, he said:
"“If you think he’s the best of all, write it.“He’s in outstanding good shape, with a world-class shape 100% percent and it’s good. “To be the best in the world you need to do that for a longer period. “He’s a fantastic player. I’m really happy to have him.”"
Not only the Egyptian received praises from the German boss, but also it was Roberto Firmino. The Brazilian has equalled the record of being one of the fastest strikers in Europe to reach 10 goals in the Champions League.
He put in another good performance, which wasn’t forgotten by his manager.
"“Bobby [Firmino] between the lines turns and makes that run pass the ball, he’s quite cooled in a moment that’s true, then he makes the other two goals, right?”"
Liverpool are going to have a busy and bamboozled week; Saturday they will receive the relegated Stoke City, and then will take a travel to Italy to fight against Roma in the second leg at the semifinal of Champions League. It’ll be a real challenge for the reds, but as they chant;
They’ll never walk alone!
