Due to the abundance of Premier League teams in the FA Cup, many games got postponed to mid-week contests. Here is a complete look at a scattered Matchday 35.

The Premier League’s schedule became scattered with all four FA Cup semifinalists being from the EPL. The four teams played their previously scheduled matches for the weekend in the middle of the week before heading off to Wembley. The 10 games for Matchday 35 took place over a five-day span.

Brighton 1-1 Tottenham

A rare occasion of Tuesday night football between Spurs and Brighton started off with another slow first half. Lewis Dunk’s yellow card in the eleventh minute was the only thing written down in referee Kevin Friend’s book. The second half started off with a bang as Harry Kane scored three minutes after the break. The goal is Kane’s 26th of the campaign and his 104th of his EPL career with Tottenham.

Brighton responded immediately after Kane’s goal. Jose Izquierdo was taken down by Serge Aurier in the box for a penalty a minute after Kane’s strike. The German midfielder Pascal Gross converted the ensuing penalty for his eighth goal this season. Neither team could get the clincher later in the second half. The points were shared at the AmEx.

Spurs in the Champions League isn’t a done deal

Tottenham’s point gives them 68 on the season. The rest of the schedule for Spurs isn’t too challenging, but their recent performances could spell trouble. The team could either win out and get a UCL spot or completely cave in and give fourth place to Chelsea.

The Seagulls should be okay despite future fixtures.

Brighton and Hove Albion haven’t won in six straight. They are only eight points above the drop zone in 13th position. The rest of their season is the toughest four-game stretch any EPL side has faced all year. After a Saturday contest at Burnley, Brighton host Man United. They will then travel to the Etihad to play Man City and end the season at Anfield against Liverpool. The Seagulls will need to spread their wings and hope for some small miracles. This team has had either long stretches of wins or long stretches of losing. A lengthy winless stretch to end the season might be their downfall.
