I don’t know why, but I feel this will be a unanimous decision by all the players and the world. A man who once was the worker from Egypt then became the prince, and now the king of Egypt – is one Mohamed Salah.

Fast forward a full season, and the winger from Liverpool could be a couple of days away from being the king of the Premier League. No league medal makes you think why vote this man, and not one of the other Manchester City players?

Well, it’s simple! He’s just been the player stealing the limelight from the newly crown champions, in the footballing world. Salah’s individual performances have been so consistent – it’s hard to pick a section in his start to his Liverpool life, where you can say he wasn’t amazing. One of 10/15 matches perhaps, we could say the man was missing? Hard I tell you!

Salah has shelved himself almost every award there is for an African player this season. He has already won the BBC African Player of the Year, CAF African Player of the Year, and is the first player in Premier League history to secure three Premier League Player of the month awards in a single season.

This record-breaking stat plus the other 10 or so records he’s broken in the process – all counts towards his selection as king of the EPL. He has been involved in 50 of Liverpool’s goals across all competition. That’s the most by any Liverpool player in a single season.

His amount of 30 goals could change over the weekend, with him it’s more probable than inconceivable. He deserves the award being a team’s Most Valuable Player and being the league’s most spoken about player.

Hopefully, he stays for a longer spell and entertains the Premier League for many seasons to come.
