West Brom 2-2 Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp started a mix of first-team players with second-team players in preparation for Liverpool’s Champions League semi-final against Roma on Tuesday. The Reds second-team striker Danny Ings started in place of Roberto Firmino and scored the first goal of the game. The fourth-minute goal was Ings first of the campaign.

West Brom held strong throughout much of the first half and second half until Mohamed Salah made history and scored his 31st goal of the season. This equals the Premier League record for goals in a 38-game season. Salah joins Alan Shearer, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Luis Suarez for the record. With three games left, it is likely Salah will stand on the mountaintop by himself.

Salah’s goal wasn’t the only exciting event to happen at the Hawthorns. West Brom charged back with an amazing two-goal comeback to earn the 2-2 draw. Jake Livermore’s goal got it started in the 79th minute followed by Salomon Rondon’s equalizer in the 88th minute. The Baggies draw with Liverpool comes six days after their 1-0 win over Manchester United. It is the first time since late-November that West Brom has gone three games unbeaten in the Premier League.

Four of West Brom’s 25 points have come against Liverpool and the 2-2 draw is the 13th of the season for the Baggies. They remain in last with a trip to St. James’ Park next on the schedule. Liverpool remain in 3rd and a Spurs win against Watford on April the 20th will tie the London side with Jurgen Klopp’s men.
